Why TotImage exists

TotImage started from a small, annoying problem. Photos downloaded from Google Photos or an iPhone often arrive as HEIC, and turning them into PNG or JPG on Windows usually means a paywalled tool or uploading personal pictures to a stranger's server. I wanted a converter that was free, quick and did not ask for either.

So I built one. TotImage is developed and maintained by Siddharta Navarro Castellar, an independent developer in Catalonia, as a personal project. There is no company or team behind it.

How it works

Your images are converted inside your own browser. They are not uploaded to a conversion server, and there are no accounts to create. Right now there are seven converters (WebP, AVIF and HEIC to PNG, JPG or PDF) in English, Spanish and Catalan. The privacy page explains the details, and the licences page credits the open-source decoder used for HEIC.

What to expect

This is a young site and it will grow slowly, one tool at a time. Some unusual files may fail to convert, and metadata is not kept. If something breaks or you need a format that is missing, write to me. Real bug reports and ideas are what decide what gets built next.
